Spicy cheese balls are definitely a party food, but they are also a great option if you are looking to cut back on calories or sugar. You can eat them alone or add them to dips, salads or soups. Depending on what you are eating, you can either go with the mild or hot version of the cheese balls. For the mild cheese balls, use grated cheddar cheese. For the hot cheese balls, use sharp cheddar cheese. If you are not a huge fan of cheddar cheese, you can always mix in some parmesan cheese to create a more complex flavor profile. If you’re in a rush and don’t have the time to chill the cheese before serving, you can also eat them right away. Store-bought naan, puffed rice or roti can be used as a substitute for more crunchy snacks, and they won’t break the skin.
